Welcome to Playground Peddlers! Don't spend a fortune on a new bike when you can pick up one of ours for a fraction of the cost.
Open all year round, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00-14:00.
Our goal is to take unwanted bikes and get them back on the road: clean, green, healthy recycling. We take donated bikes and bikes that were destined for landfill; we give them a full safety check, and restore them to working order, replacing or repairing brakes, gears, saddles, cables, wheels, tyres.
Since we started in 2017, we've handled thousands of bikes - 1,800 in 2022 alone - many that would otherwise sit in landfill for the next few centuries; over a thousand of these have then been sucessfully restored and resold.
We do all all types of bike, from kids' to adults', mountain to road bikes, and even the odd speciality device: it simply depends on what we get. So, if you fancy a tandem, or a unicycle, or...
We typically offer bikes for sale from a few pounds for a toddler's bike, £15 or £20 for a child's or teenager's, and £25+ for an adult's. Nothing goes to waste: any bikes that simply aren't up to resale are either used for parts, shipped to Africa for further reuse, or recycled locally.
Cycling is a great skill, as both transport and a leisure activity: it's green, it's good for you, and it's fun. However, children's bikes can be prohibitively expensive, especially when you have to get a new one every six months as they grow.
So: why not use our bike library? A small initial purchase, and then just bring it back and pay a minor upgrade fee to swap it for a bigger one when required, all the way up to an adult size.
Alternatively, if you're not looking for a new machine, you can just bring your existing bike along to get it tuned and safety checked ready for school or work: we run "Dr Bike" sessions both at the Playground and at scheduled locations in and around Evesham.
We can also provide basic spares if you're looking to do some work yourself, and also usually have a stock of accessories like reflectors, helmets, and stabilisers.
Maybe you have a long-forgotten bike in the shed you no longer use? Maybe your children have simply outgrown their current bikes and need a quick upgrade for a couple of years? Bring your old bikes along to us and we can help, renovating them and passing them on to someone in need - and, who knows, we can perhaps interest you in something shiny as well...
