About the Playground

Our History and People

Formed by volunteers in 1982, Evesham Adventure Playground Association has grown into a larger project, but its core values remain the same: a play-based, environmentally-friendly local asset at the heart of the community.

We aim to support the community and give children, young people and families the space to have fun together in an environment that challenges and inspires the mind and body.

You can read more about our story on our 40th Anniversary page.

We have our own dedicated 2-acre site not far from the A46 Evesham bypass. This is home to our hall, play spaces, kitchens, multi-purpose play area, forest school, workshops, various storage buildings - and, of course, the Adventure Playground itself.

We offer open access play, wraparound childcare, holiday and youth clubs, bicycle recycling and repair, a community pantry, and space for local groups.

We are staffed by a mixed team of play workers and volunteers. We also have our committee, which provides oversight for our operations.

Together, we handle all aspects of the playschemes and clubs, building and outdoor space maintenance, fundraising events, finances and administration. If you have some spare time and think that you could help - please, get in touch.
