Play is a fundamental part of childhood development: it builds confidence in assessing risk, it helps with physical and emotional development, it cultivates resilience.
Sadly, many children don’t get the opportunity to play outside. This can be due to safety concerns, lack of access to open space or simply that it's not part of their daily routine. We offer a variety of options to get children outside and let them have some fun!
Free, open access to the Playground is available Monday to Friday, 16:00-17:30 during term, and 10:00-15:00 in holidays.
We typically have activities such as den/structure building, arts and crafts, sculpture, sports and adventurous games, drama and cooking. We provide free hot meals to all attending our site from 12:00.
Open Access Play is only suitable for children aged 8+ unless accompanied by an adult). Registration and parental consent is required when attending, plus children must be signed in and out.
Our popular Youth Club is for children and young people aged from 8 to 13. It runs every other Friday during term time, from 18:30-20:30.
The sessions are run by our bank of volunteer workers. Pay on the door, with tuck shop and hot snacks available.

Held every Wednesday from 10:00 during school holidays when we're running our playschemes.
